Stadium Trespass

The past year we have seen a significant uptick in trespass and disorderly intoxication arrests in Baltimore City. Some of these arrests are still occurring at nighttime hot spots like Power Plant Live and in federal hill, but now we are starting to see a larger police presence at places like the Horseshoe Casino, Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. Police at these places have much shorter fuses than when out on the street, and are often rough an aggressive when it comes to enforcing their rules. A simple argument, being noticeably intoxicated, or even just being too loud can result in an arrest, and criminal charges will almost always follow. And that’s not all, because the casino and the stadium are private property, arrests or citations could have additional consequences such as being permanently banned from the property. A tough pill to swallow for any Ravens fan, or other football fan going to see a game.
Benjamin Herbst has represented dozens of defendants who have been arrested or cited for trespass, disorderly intoxication, and endangering the safety of another. Each of these charges is a misdemeanor, but that does not mean they can be taken lightly. Each carries a maximum 90-day jail sentence and the possibility of a permanent criminal conviction. The penalties can increase upon second and subsequent offenses as well. The goal of every criminal representation is to avoid both of these consequences, and we will fight to make sure this happens. In cases where a defendant has been arrested or cited at the stadium, he can assist in reversing the NFL’s letter of disinvite, which the Ravens send to all persons who have been arrested during a game. Benjamin can also assist in restoring a person's rights to attend Oriole's games at Camden Yards if they receive a ban.
Getting into a fight, running on the field or just being disorderly can land a person on a stadium or casino banned list, which in some cases can last a lifetime. If you have been banned from any public place in Maryland and would like to return contact Benjamin for a free consultation about how to appeal the decision. Benjamin represents defendants charged with trespass and disorderly conduct in the district courts of Maryland and also handles appeals to the circuit courts. He has successfully represented dozens of defendants in stadium and casino trespass cases and also represents juveniles who are charged with trespass. "I am writing this letter to thank you for doing such a great job in my case. If it were not for what you did I would still be in jail right now. My family and I are very grateful I have a second chance at life now, and if it wouldn't be like this if you were not so good at what you do. Thank you again Benjamin!" T.S.

"Thank you for all the time and effort that you put into defending my case. You were willing to fight for me when nobody else would believe my story, and you did not back down from the prosecutor. Another lawyer would have urged me to plead guilty, but you were willing to fight for me, and in the end justice was served. I appreciate everything you did and wish you all the best." Fred D.
